Kiko Barriuso is a multi-instrumental musician, singer, composer and lyricist born in Madrid. He grew up in a musical environment and early on began to study classical piano. When he was a teenager he became interested in modern music, and began to play guitar and drums in different pop and rock bands. He developed his singing skills with Closing Time, an acoustic covers duet. With ‘Señor Antipirina’ Kiko returns to the piano, recording an album of songs, ‘Divertimentos’.
Driven by his own songs, which he began to write at age 20, Kiko formed the jazz rock trio ‘Very Uncommon People’. They recorded an album with the same name as the band in 2013. A lover of variety, Kiko continues to write songs in very diverse styles within modern music. With lyrics in English and Spanish, these range from pop rock to reagge, through folk or soul.
Kiko Barriuso es un músico multinstrumentista, cantante, compositor y letrista nacido en Madrid en 1978. Crece en un entorno musical y comienza pronto a estudiar piano clásico. Ya en la adolescencia, interesado por la música moderna, empieza a tocar guitarra y batería en distintas formaciones de música pop y rock. De la mano del grupo Señor Antipirina, vuelve al piano por todo lo alto, grabando un álbum de canciones (“Divertimentos). Desarrolla su faceta de cantante en el dúo Closing Time, grupo de versiones de rock clásico. Impulsado por sus propias canciones, que empieza a escribir a los 20 años, forma el trio de jazz rock Very Uncommon People, con quien graba un álbum homónimo en 2013. Amante de la música variada, sigue escribiendo canciones en muy diversos estilos dentro de la música moderna. Con letras en inglés y en español, éstas van del pop rock al reagge pasando por el folk o el soul.
