Joseph Shir and Michael Gobiel make up the two halves of powerhouse., a group born at the start of their second year living in Madrid. powerhouse.’s music strikes a balance between the pair’s main two influences: R&B and musical theater. Joseph’s love of R&B, a genre often characterized by subtle production and melodies marries Michael’s background in musical theater. This creates larger than life story-driven songs with catchy riffs and melodic hooks. The duo’s first album is due out this year.
Joseph Shir y Michael Gobiel forman el grupo powerhouse., un grupo que nació durante su segundo año viviendo en Madrid. La música de powerhouse. se basa en las dos influencias principales de los componentes del grupo, el R&B y la música teatral, logrando un gran equilibrio entre estos dos géneros musicales. El amor por el R&B viene de parte de Joseph, normalmente caracterizado por una producción y melodías suaves, fusionándose con la inspiración mas fuerte de Michael: los musicales. Juntos crean canciones con vida propia y ritmos melódicos y pegadizos. Su primer álbum saldrá este año.
