Alex Roddom was born into an English family that settled down in Madrid thirty-seven years ago. Growing up and living in Madrid, Alex only discovered nine years ago that music would become his chosen path. He juggles “real life” job and the music to pay the bills at the end of the month. Alex is from a heavy rock/metal background, but has broadened his spectrum by focusing more on an acoustic, country folk style … he feels this is a better expression in getting through to people on a more personal and intimate level … a level that he feels not many have seen or heard in him.
Alex Roddom nació en el seno de una familia inglesa que se instaló en Madrid hace 37 años. Criado y residente en Madrid, no fue hasta hace tan solo nueve años que Alex descubrió que la música era lo suyo. Combina su pasión con un trabajo «de verdad» para llegar a fin de mes. Sus orígenes se acercan más al heavy rock/metal, pero ha ido ampliando sus horizontes musicales centrándose más en un estilo acústico de folk country, porque considera que expresándose así puede llegar mejor a la gente a un nivel íntimo y personal… A un nivel que siente que no muchos han podido ver u oír en él.

Laura “Novana” has been part of different bands and groups, until in April 2007 as a soloist (and with her own songs) she won the contest of songwriters of C.M.U. Santa María de Europa, one of the most notorious events in Madrid. From this moment on, she began to play in theaters such as “Galileo Galilei”, the “Clamores” room, the Royal Owl, the New Art Corner, Barcelona8, the main hall of Gran Via, Moroco, and Café Berlin among others .
In 2014 she performs at the Teatro Calderón in Madrid, after winning the contest of young talent organized by the newspaper 20 minutes and Bigopo, event and interview that was issued by TVE and published by the newspaper 20 minutes. Laura has also presented her work live, guitar in hand, in different national radios such as Onda Madrid, Radio Villalba, Onda Cero or Cadena Ser.
Laura is part of the “La noche en vivo” circuit and has participated in projects like “Ellas Crean”. Also, through the initiative of +100 of Sgae, was selected to act in the centers Fnac.
She has just released her first album, recorded at the studios Santa Rosa Studio in Madrid, by the producer and musician Santiago Fernández, a member of the group “Los Secretos”. The disc has ten unpublished tracks composed entirely by Novana, who has had the collaboration of musicians such as Ramón Arroyo, Santiago Fernández, Manu Clavijo, Edu Vázquez and David Perez Huerta. It has been mastered by Denis Blackham in England and features graphic design and illustration by the artist Marta Deer.
Along with this work, Novana is currently graduating from the School of Writers in Madrid and has worked as a concert promoter.
“Novana” ha formado parte de distintas bandas y grupos, hasta que en abril de 2007 ganó como solista y con sus propios temas el certamen de cantautores del C.M.U. Santa María de Europa, uno de los certámenes de mayor notoriedad de Madrid. A partir de este momento comienza a tocar en salas como “Galileo Galilei”, la sala “Clamores”, el Búho Real, el Rincón del arte Nuevo, Barcelona8, la sala 40 principales de Gran Vía, Moroco, y el Café Berlín entre otras.
En 2014 actúa en el Teatro Calderón de Madrid, tras ganar el concurso de jóvenes talentos organizado por el periódico 20 minutos y Bigopo, evento y entrevista que fue emitida por TVE y publicado por el periódico 20 minutos. También ha presentado su trabajo en directo, guitarra en mano, en diferentes radios nacionales como Onda Madrid, Radio Villalba, Onda Cero o la Cadena Ser.
Forma parte del circuito de “La noche en vivo” y ha participado en proyectos como el de “Ellas Crean”. También, a través de la iniciativa de +100 de Sgae, fue seleccionada para actuar en los centros Fnac.
Actualmente acaba de lanzar su primer disco, grabado en los estudios Santa Rosa Studio de Madrid, de la mano del productor y también músico Santiago Fernández, componente del grupo “Los Secretos”.
El disco cuenta con diez temas inéditos compuestos íntegramente por Novana, quién ha contado con la colaboración de músicos de la talla de Ramón Arroyo, Santiago Fernández, Manu Clavijo, Edu Vázquez o David Perez Huerta. Ha sido masterizado por Denis Blackham en Inglaterra y cuenta con un diseño gráfico e ilustración elaborados por la artista Marta Deer.
Junto a este trabajo Novana actualmente se forma en la Escuela de Escritores de Madrid y ha realizado tareas de promotora de conciertos.
