Santiago Cordoba, has put on a different set of skins and strings to perform his solo concept “Corso“: a kaleidoscope of various percussion instruments, loops, samples, piano, guitar…..but most of all his musical soul itself. His music is thoroughly composed, well structured, yet sometimes surprising in breaks or sudden interchanges, held together by a general elegance, a light pulse and Santiago`s intense way of playing music.
Sound landscapes that push to get out, break structures and become in the universe, playing with elements that allow them to multiply, divide their voices and mutate into forms. Their songs use the encounter with instruments like the piano, the guitar, the hang, the ronrroco and of the experimentation with alternative percussions.
An organic beat of unconventional elements that project from the inside, consolidate in the outside and finish materializing inside the audience in continuous form of return and return; legitimizing landscapes that expand creating hypnotic mantras very rich in sonority, rhythms and styles, reflecting but not asking too much.
Santiago Córdoba, cambia de pieles musicales y se pone al frente de su proyecto solista, “Corso”: un caleidoscopio de varios instrumentos de percusión, loops, samples, piano, guitarra… pero ante todo su propia alma. La composición musical está cuidada al detalle y bien estructurada; la elegancia general, la ligereza rítmica y la intensidad de Santiago al ejecutarla dotan de cohesión a las piezas.
Paisajes sonoros que pujan por salir, romper estructuras y devenir en universo, jugando con elementos que les permiten multiplicarse, dividir sus voces y mutar de formas. Sus canciones se valen del encuentro con instrumentos como el piano, la guitarra, el hang, el ronrroco y de la experimentación con percusiones alternativas.
Un ritmo orgánico de elementos no convencionales que se proyectan desde el interior, se consolidan en el exterior y terminan de materializarse dentro del oyente en permanente ir y venir, legitimando paisajes que se expanden creando mantras hipnóticos muy ricos en sonoridad, ritmos y estilos; reflexionando, pero sin preguntar demasiado.
After having traveled the environments of “Faná” (2006) and “Dezmenuzá” (2004), in his new work “CORSO” builds departmental songs. A studio apartment in the neighborhood of Saavedra, Buenos Aires, was the base of operations for melodies inspired by different experiences and territories.
Tras haber transitado los ambientes de “Faná” (2006) y “Dezmenuzá” (2004), construye en su nuevo trabajo “CORSO” canciones de apartamento. Un estudio en el barrio de Saavedra, Buenos Aires, fue base de operaciones para melodías inspiradas en diferentes vivencias y territorios.
Corso, with a year of life, has been presented in Buenos Aires and tours in Europe, Brazil and New York.
In mid-2016 he was summoned to compose the original music of the performance “A Ticket To Atlantis” held in Beirut, Lebanon.
Recently, the English magazine Sounds and Colors specialized in Latin American culture has included the track “Mamila” to the compilation dedicated to the new sounds of Argentina, “Que Canchero” (Nov.2016).
Corso, con un año de vida, ha sido presentado en Buenos Aires y en giras por Europa, Brasil y Nueva York.
A mediados de 2016 fue convocado para componer la música original de la performance “A Ticket To Atlantis”, realizada en Beirut, Líbano.
Recientemente, la revista inglesa especializada en cultura latinoamericana Sounds and Colours ha incluido el tema “Mamila” al recopilatorio dedicado a los nuevos sonidos de Argentina, “Qué Canchero” (nov. de 2016).
