22 to 24 May – Madrid 48-Hour Film Slam Competition

Have you ever wanted to make a short film? Then have it screened, judged & win an award?

We’ve got you covered!

The Madrid 48-Hour Film Slam 3rd Edition will run from Friday May 22nd to Sunday May 24th, 8:00pm to 8:00pm (Madrid-time).

You and your team have 48-hours to shoot all the footage, sound, music, and edit it all together with English and Spanish subtitles (as needed, Google Translate accepted) into a ready-to-watch three to six minute short film.

All submissions that meet the guidelines and follow the rules, will then be screened online Wednesday May 27th to Saturday May 30th and voted on by the audience. Winners will be announced on Sunday May 31st at 8:00pm (Madrid-time). First, second and third place will be awarded cash prizes.

Team registration fee: €6 / per team member
(For example: A team of one pays €6, a team of three pays €18, a team of twenty pays €120. So you can have as many people as you want on your team but you will be required to list all the contributors in the credits and if the number of contributors does not match the amount you paid for entry, then your film will not be included in the contest. Submission fee covers registration for participating in the film slam contest of which 70% covers administration fees and costs, and 30% goes towards the prize money.
Additionally, screening the films May 27th to May 30th will be free for anyone, but participating in the audience vote to determine who wins the cash prizes will cost €6 to receive the online voting form link. The split of the voting form fee will be 70% towards the prize money, and 30% for administration costs and fees. Team members are not allowed to participate in the audience vote. Audience vote will be by those who attend the premieres. There will be an awards ceremony on May 31st at 8:00pm (Madrid-time). Cash prizes will be awarded to winners for first and second place. There will be a filmmakers-only vote to recognize an exceptional film submission based upon its technical merits. The awards ceremony will be live streamed (social media platform to be announced).
