SNAIL was born in January 2017 in the classrooms of the Escuela Creativa de Madrid. Paradoxically, the original idea for the group was to compose original music and form a rock and progressive metal band; However, for various reasons and concerns, Snail ended up being a classic jazz quartet composed by Mar Giménez on piano and vocals, Juanjo Villalobos on bass, Benja Bravo on guitar and Pimen Dani on drums and cajon.
During the last three months the band has been working hard on the compositional arrangements of standards, ranging from bossa nova to Latin jazz, to classical swing and bebop. This body of work will be reflected in the audiovisual presentations that the band recorded in March.
SNAIL nace en Enero de 2017 en las aulas de la Escuela Creativa de Madrid. Paradójica mente, la idea en un principio era hacer una banda de rock/metal progresivo con material original; sin embargo, por diversos motivos e inquietudes, Snail terminó siendo un cuarteto de jazz clásico, compuesto por Mar Giménez (piano y voz), Juanjo Villalobos (bajo) Benja Bravo (guitarra) y Dani Pimen (batería/cajón).
Durante los casi 3 meses de vida de la banda, se ha dado un arduo trabajo de arreglos de standards que van desde la bossa nova, hasta el latin jazz, pasando por el clásico swing y el bebop. Este material se verá plasmado en material audiovisual que la banda grabará durante el mes de Marzo.
