12 Dec – David Ernsberger and Guests

“In a world that’s increasingly automated, structured, and optimized for maximum commercial gain and productivity, there is a need to have spaces where people still get together and lose themselves in music. Music that’s personal and imperfect. Music that exists only for the moment of its creation between musicians and the audience, and is then gone.

Music has always made me feel alive.  The hymns are what got me through all-day revival meetings as a child. As a teenager I slept with my favorite stolen CDs on repeat, hoping that my brain would absorb their secret messages. So as I entered my thirties and felt the life being sucked out of me by the boredom and predictability of adulthood, I thought I’d better start making music of my own.”

David will be playing with Michael Sikorski, a bluegrass fiddle player from Baltimore, Maryland. Michael is currently working in Madrid as a biomedical engineer through a U.S. Fulbright grant, and spends his free time sharing fiddle tunes and Americana music while absorbing the amazing Spanish culture.

And singer Sally Fazakerley of the Madrid music scene.
