10 Feb – Clay Play and the Art of Non-Attachment

Non-attachment, also expressed as detachment, is a state in which a person overcomes his or her attachment to desire for things, people or concepts of the world and thus attains a heightened perspective.

In each of these two-hour workshops we’ll create a vessel by hand using clay as our medium. All instructions will be given in English. This workshop is a two-fold exercise in learning about clay and a lesson in non-attachment.

There are four sessions in this workshop series beginning with pinch pots, next is coil pots, slabs, and the last session is free form. This session we’ll begin with the pinch pot.

A pinch pot is a simple form of hand-made pottery produced from ancient times to the present. The pinching method is to create pottery that can be ornamental or functional, and has been widely employed across cultures and times.

Each session is independent and stands alone. You may attend one session, two, three or all four. Each session is 10€ per person. This pays for clay and alcohol.
